There are no borders for this event. If you can be at Hope Village, Los Angeles, CA, we would love for you to participate. It’s quick and easy, all you’ll have to do is stop by our booth, pick up the information and materials you need, and at your next doctor’s visit, have them draw your blood which will be sent back to us.
1. Arrive & Register
Once you arrive at the Keck School of Medicine at your scheduled appointment time. The first thing you will need to do is check-in and register.
If possible, try and arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to give yourself time for the registration process.
You may be eligible for a parking or travel voucher. Upon arrival, you may ask if you qualify at the registration tables.

2. GIVE CONSENT
This study has been reviewed and approved by our Institutional Review Board. All participants in the study must read, agree and sign the informed consent. A video of the informed consent will be posted closer to the event date, which we encourage you to watch ahead of time. You must sign the informed consent in front of a witness on the day of the event.
We believe in a transparent partnership through our Bench with Bedside Initiative™ and would like you to be fully aware and on board.
3. Blood Draw
After the consent, you will be handed a bag which contains an ID number unique to you.
This ID number is what you will use to register online to track your results. So make sure to put that in your purse, wallet, or somewhere safe.
The bag will contain two 10 milliliter blood collection tubes which you will hand to the phlebotomist. It will contain smaller tubes which will be given to the lab for processing the sample. Labels with your Participant number will also be provided.
3. Pick up Vile
After the consent, you will be handed a small package which contains a vile and information that your doctor will need to draw the blood.
This way, you’ll be able to provide us what we need at your earliest convenience without having to wait in line or anything else that goes into blood donation type events.
Once you get your blood drawn, we invite you to help yourself to some light refreshments as well as to connect with those around you.
6. ACCESS YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT
On the day of the blood drive you will be given a unique user name and temporary password that you will need to access your online account to get frequent updates on your blood sample, the research, and how we can work together on making a difference.
